You don't get the point of these things... first, those people are not you. You might like the survival part of the game, but others may prefer the creative part. Those item mods are usually downloaded to get items you can't get in survival or creative or help tell you how to craft items. Creative mode is for building, for testing things, etc. Single player commands are to make the game how you want. You can change the game to suit your needs. Minecraft is supposed to be for multiple audiences; some are like you, others like those features.

You make a great point man. That really made me think, do i need to have mods. Of course i only use my TMI and SPC in my creative worlds, but i just went and uninstalled all of my mods except for optifine. Thank you for making me see a bit clearer! -MoosyGoosy

Carlos is right, and you are too. I as an amateur map maker mainly use creative, because it would be next to impossible to make the maps in survival, but I love survival, and I make sure that there is a barrier between the two, I only mod my mc for world edit (for making maps), or if I see a cool mod that I want to muck about with and uninstall it.

Well some people just want to build or don't find it thrilling walking everywhere, I prefer flying even though I don't spawn much. I also spawn when building server facilities.

All though I agree with the below comments. I have to agree with OMGChase. Now that 1.3 is out they have introduced the cheat option. Now-even if you cant install mods- you VERY simply cheat. If the team at mojang keep this up minecraft will be dead within the next two years. :(
