Art VillagerButterfly knife , or also known as the Balisong knife , is a Philippine traditional pocket knife . It's special is it can spin , flip , throw and rotate like a butterfly flying , so that's why it named as Butterfly Knife . For more information , click here
Balisong has a lot of tricks to play , but all the tricks were base on spin , flip , throw and rotate . For example : the steps to open and close a Balisong by basic are 1. throw , 2. spin , 3. flip , 4. rotate and 5. throw , like this . To learn more Balisong tricks , you must know the basic open and close , thumb roll ( Y2K ) , reverse open and close ( Icepick , just reverse do open and close ) , reverse thumb roll ( reverse Y2K ) , fan spin , finger roll ( Chaplin ) , cross pass ( Twirl ) , Aerial ( throw the Balisong to sky and catch it ) and more . You can combine many tricks into a trick , just like this , this combined basic open and close , Twirl and Y2K . If you can do a combine trick very smooth and very fast , then you reached the Godspeed level . So we know that knives are sharp enough to cut a paper or your hand easily , so if you want to play and training Balisong tricks , you better use the not sharp Balisong if you don't want you hand cut when playing :/ . You need at least 1 month to training your hand and fingers to do a trick , but there is a most easiest trick , the quick draw . You just only need to flip to open and close the Balisong , very easy ',:)
You need to care you metal items such as your kitchen knives , bike , iron door , iron window frame and something else . Also , you need to care your Balisong very well and make sure not fall it on the floor from the high place . You can training on your bed because bed is soft . If you accidently fall your Balisong on hard ground , you need to check the connection part to make sure it doesn't break . Most Balisong trainer or real knives are made from aluminum alloy or stainless steel , but I found a titanium alloy Balisong on Shopee ! But it cost 370 MYR . . . We know that titanium is a very strong metal and not break easily , it used to make submarines that strong enough to resistance high pressure under 1000 meters in the ocean . Also , some of the Balisong that made by other metal will rust when touched water and air ( because my Balisong started rust a little bit ) , so you need to do anti rush action on your Balisong to make sure it doesn't rush .
Some of seller will free a little bottle of lubricating oil , some parts like the copper plates on the connection part and nails and a scrull driver for your Balisong . The lubricating oil is use to lube up the connection part and make it more smoother when playing . Some parts are used when your Balisong fell on the floor and broke caused some parts lost , but the most important is don't fall your Balisong .
