Hello guys it is MegaManChiefFan here and I wanted to tell you guys something that I stumbled across on the internet today. I was online and I saw about a secret gamemode Mojang was going to make for the PC Edition of Minecraft and eventually the Xbox version. It was a vanilla minecraft version of the famous game Capture the FlagI went straight to the wiki and found out more about this mode. This is the info that I gathered

Source: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Capture_the_Flag

Capture the Flag was a gamemode mentioned by Notch himself in 2009 in which two or more teams would tried to bring to dyed wool back to there base. There would be a prebuilt maps ready to play and would be very compatiable with multiplayer mode. Subsitutes such as dirt, wood, sand and other types of colored wool would be used to mark that the opposing team's flag has been stolen. TNT and chests were options as items, TNT would be used to blow up certain spots and kill some players while chests would be used to
store the flags caught. Command Blocks would show a scoreboard on the side of your screen saying the amount of points each team has. There was said to also have multiple kits, portals to go through to get to certain games and recorded stats to show off how many kills you have gotten.

So why hasn't this been implemented into PC Minecraft? Here is MY theory on why.

Plugins from Bukkit can now allow people to make servers just like this in less time. And not only that, but most of the stuff like the scoreboards and command blocks are now in vanilla minecraft and it would not be anything special or charming if this gamemode was made.

But will this gamemode ever be made?
Well in PC edition, no, but in Xbox Edition maybe. In Xbox Edition, these types of things that will be added in will be new and exciting for the people that ONLY have Xbox Edition. It is too advanced for Pocket Edition but it would be a PERFECT addition to the Xbox Edition. But yet, when it was announced that this mode will be on Xbox first was in 2011 at Minecon. But the real question really is...

DO YOU WANT THIS GAMEMODE IN MINECRAFT???

I think it is a bad idea for PC but an excellent idea for Xbox. Since Xbox doesn't have the advanced servers and plugins like the PC edition does (Or at least VERY HARD to make). So final answer from me, PC: NO, XBOX: YES

I think it's a bad idea to implement it simply because of the fact that it would practically be pointless since you can make a decent vanilla CTF map at any time thanks to the 1.8 features and whatnot. If it was on the console/non-PC versions, I think I'd be great.

Not really. Noobs would be able to create it, and all the CTF servers would lose their popularity.
