Hi! My name’s Cheddar and I’m a dog, I am owned by a nice human named Poppy but I have a dark and deep history. I was born in a dark box with bars all around, I couldn’t find my way and didn’t know where I was. I saw my mom and dad smiling down at me then, I heard a slam, and my mother hid me behind her. I couldn’t see much behind my mom, but I did see a large white source. I had no idea why I was behind my mother and what was going to happen. I saw a figure, they dished out food and water, I ran to it. Once the thing saw me he faltered and took me outside of my cage through a door and to another one of them. I realized, I made a big mistake. I can't remember anything after that, I blacked out. My life was never the same, I was separated from my parents in another cell given food and water every day, people came in taking other dogs like me, but I was left alone. One day five years later I was doing my normal dog thing, sitting around doing nothing and a family came in. I didn’t think too much of it, families came in but nobody adopted me. The family had a child, and he was interested in me, I was so excited! I went home with them and soon found out that the child’s name was Jennifer. Jennifer was great, we would play together, go out on walks, play tug of war, and more out relationship was great. One day Jennifer went outside with me on a walk, the walk was longer than what we usually did and I didn’t recognize the area. We stopped outside of a gray dull building with a dog logo and the words “Pet Adoption Center” right next to it. We walked in, I had no idea what was going to happen, Jennifer dragged me to the counter and said, “I’m Jennifer, here to return Cheddar.” I was confused, she wasn’t going to return me to the adoption center right? I was mistaken, I got thrown into a cell that night, just like how I was before. I felt down, I’d lost my best life and am back here, in this cell, a cell full of my deepest emotions, feelings, and thoughts. I sat there as the day went on, my time with Jennifer was great but it didn’t last long enough. I sat there, thinking of a way back, a way out, a way to be free. I realized that this was the end. The end of my story. This is the end, but I was wrong. The next day I found myself in someone else’s arms they’re name was Poppy, I was so gleeful! I loved my life with Poppy, I had my own room, and we played for hours and hours we did walks, played catch, did tug of war and got a dog friend named Pelly. My life was great and I was very happy. That concludes my life so far, I am currently with Poppy and am having a great life.
