As a child I had this weird bedtime OCD and part of that was making sure all my knick knacks, books, trinkets, fossils, rocks, science equipment, etc, was all lined up in a specific way. I'd lay in bed almost about to fall asleep, after I screamed "I LOVE YOU GOOD NIGHT!!!" to my mom on the otherside of the wall (where her bedroom was) just to hear her scream it back, exactly 10 times, I would happen to drowsily glance at my dresser and notice ONE item out of place, I'd wake myself up and get out of bed to re-align it and then crawl back into bed, and this went on over and over until I was satisfied or exhausted. Sometimes I'd never get to fall asleep because I would end up fearfully rearranging everything all night, so that when my mom went in to wake me up at 6 am to get ready for school id be sitting there, half dead, with bags under my eyes.
Later at school, I'd get the pukes at around 9 am and would have to be sent home.
When the OCD shifted to other things, I was much happier. But as for lining things up-- I enjoyed doing that with my crayons, paints, rocks and shells. AND one of my favorite things was to arrange the furniture in the dollhouse, though I'd never actually play with the dolls (which were animals because human likenesses creeped me the eff out)
