A friend showed me a collaborative story she and her friends were working on, and she was using something called Springpad to put it together. Apparently, you can have multiple people work and edit the same story - as well as let anyone view it by sending them the link. Haven't tried it myself, but that's what I've been told.

Might write up backstory events for my D&D campaign there someday.
