There was once a small village at the edge of a desert. It was here that Steve lived, along with twenty or so similar block-based humans. Steve, however, was often looked down upon and hated, due to the fact that he was unusual; prefering exploring to farming, mining to reading, building to cooking and fighting off evil (which was usually left to a happy-go-lucky iron golem) to blacksmithing*. Eventually, he was hated so much by all, that he was driven out of the miniscule town by these 'humans'. They could not stand variety.

An outcast, Steve wandered further than ever from the village than he had ever gone before. He trekked through jungle and desert, mesa and taiga, swamp and plains until one night he came to a moonlit beach on the edge of a great sea (it was before The Update That Changed The World). His exploration instinct took over him, and he yearned to cross the great body of water, and see what was on the other side. He spotted a tall birch tree, and in less than a minute, had punched it to the ground. With it's wood he crafted a boat with which he would sail the great sea. He set, off alone, into the unknown.

He awoke to to the sound of rain. He groaned, sat up and looked around him. He was on bed in a small, dirt-floored shack. A long-nosed, completely inconprehendable humanoid, quite unlike anything Steve had ever seen before, came in through the only door in the hut. He peered down at Steve, and mumbled to himself. He left, and a minute later, brought back a bottle of water and a loaf of bread. Steve attempted to thank him, but when he saw the blank face of the creature, he knew that the humanoid could not unstand a word.

After Steve had finished, he got up, and followed the testificate (as he had decided to name the creature) out the door. He looked around and saw a town, not unlike the one he had come from, but in a way this place was superior. He followed the testificate to a low building on the outer edges of the village, where the testificate spoke in a muffled tone to another inhabitant of the village. The first testificate that Steve had met then abandoned them, and the other testificate turned to Steve with an extended hand, which Steve politely shook. After wiping his hands on a black apron, he motioned to Steve to follow him inside. There the testificate took a sword and chestplate out of a chest
. He passed them to the expectant Steve, who was inside secretly burning with excitement at the thought of an adventure.

Steve could no longer supress his excitement, and he dashed out of the building, through the town, and into the surrounding plains. He ran for hours and hours until he came to a whole in a the side of a low hill. He drew his sword, and treaded cautiously. He walked through the whole and down in to the darkness of the cavern. He looked to the left and the right as he walked, knowing full well that if he wasn't careful, he would soon be dead. He struck out at a dark shadow, and sliced a cave spider neatly in two. He kept wandering down, until abruptly the path he was taking changed. It narrowed and tall wooden supports held up the roof. After glancing down the passage, all thoughts of danger left his mind. A lone chest sat at the other end of the tunnel, hidden among cobwebs. He could not resist it. He ran down the tunnel as if it was a life or death matter. He opened the chest and was not disapointed. Treasures of imbossible value lay in it, and Steve stared greedily down at them. But suddenly, that what happens to every player of Minecraft happened. Steve became aware something was watching him, and he turned around to face that all-to-well-known creature with the mournful face...

*Yes, that is a word.
