MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THE NEWEST UPDATE, WITH NO MODS, AND TURN "GENERATE STRUCTURES" ON!
I may even create some stuff on this world, like turn it into an adventure map or something.
or, if i may propose such a challenge, what if you guy show me what you can do with this map? We'll have a lil contest.

P.S. Are you using any mods because it might give you a different outcome.
Are you playing on the newest update though? 1.2.5, right?
And when you spawn, you have to turn to your left, there's a cliff face, then you have to continue in that direction.
Otherwse, i dunno what to say dude, i just tried it again and it worked fine,
