Creepers are the main source of gunpowders.It is also one of the most annoying mob in minecraft.That's why I'll give you 10 tips on how to survive creepers.
1.To kill a creeper without making it explode,you must have a bow and arrow.Make a pillar(use dirt or sand so you can easily go down)and shoot them in fully charged.
2.If you don't have a bow and arrow,use a sword and sprint hit him,repeat until it's dead.
3.Creepers have 10 hearts like a player and the most easist weapon to kill a it is a fully charged bow and arrow or a diamond sword.
4.Creepers drop music disc (well,most people now)if a skeleton shot a creeper.But it has been suggested by the community that the sounds you might hear in music disc 11 (creeper disc) that there are weird noises like an enderman,a person running in the dirt,being chased by a wolf or even herobrine.

5.Ranged creepers (or Electric Creepers) are the most dangerous mobs and very rare.They attack 50% more than normal creepers,this happens when lightning struck them.So you the best way you could do is wear an armor or run away.

6.It is possible to kill a creeper using flint and steel.This will cause to catch fire and deals damage.
7.When Creepers try to get closer to you they circle around you and moving left.The best way to avoid this is aim your sword and wait till the creeper moves to your sword.
8.If there are multiple creepers after you,try to explode one creeper in a safe distance.
9.If there are multiple mobs attacking you (e.g.:Skeleton,Zombie,Creeper)the creeper should always be your priority.If your not good at dodging you'll get hurt as well.
10.The knockback enchantment is highly effective when you don't have any room to sprint-hit one,giving you time to run or to pull out your bow and arrow.
