Ever since the Survival Test update in august 2009, Creepers have been a large part of Minecraft. They have been deemed annoying as well as helpful. Lets take a look at what builds these points.
Pros:
- Creepers are a very good source of gunpowder, which allows you to build TnT and fireworks!
- They explode! This point is both a pro and a con. I will speak of the con side below. Creepers can be lured to explode in replacement of TnT. So, when you are mining you can use a creeper to help you blow a little hole in the wall/floor.
- Creepers can also be used in multi-player servers/worlds to blow up other player's houses. This is a good way to steal items if their house is protected
- They give XP (like any other mob)
Cons:
- They explode! When you approach a creeper you have 1.5 seconds to get 4 blocks away from it before it explodes! If it explodes it will create a big hole, and damage you. If it explodes in your house, it could be quite frustrating to fix up the creeper's damage.
- Unless, of course, you have a texture pack, Creepers are quite ugly. They are a very unappealing mob, and they ruin your structures just by standing there.
