Hey guys, Dd here, with yet another ~BLOG~, as usual. Today it's about something that applies toreal life, as well as the PlanetMinecraft community.
CROSSROADS:
"Crossroads?", you may be asking to yourself. Well, this is what I mean. I'm talking about those moments where you choose to go one way, but there's another way you'd like to go. Basically, making tough decisions.
You may want to do this, but then again, you want to do that. It may be difficult to choose, and there may be benefits for something. But, there are also bad things about each choice, which makes them all the harder to choose between.
How to make the right decision:
As I said before, it may be very difficult to choose between what may be the right decision, and what may be the wrong decision. The best thing to do is "follow your gut". Follow your instinct.
Otherwise, however, it may be best to weigh the two decisions next to one another. Compare what would be best to you, and what would be best for the people surrounding you. Compare the benefits, and compare the bad parts, and soon, you'll find the right decision.
What happens when you make the wrong decision:
When you make the wrong decision, there are many things that could happen.
People have certain opinions on your choice. You shouldn't let that keep you from going that direction, though. Do what you want to do. Say what you want to say.
Peer Pressure:
Peer pressure, as we all know it, is a large contributor to the deciding factor. It almost forces you to do a certain thing, because of pressure put on by you by those surrounding you. They want you to choose one way or another.
They do this, because they know you'll fall into the trap. It usually does. It pressures you, and puts you in a bad situation. You could consider it bandwagon.
"So, how does it apply to PlanetMinecraft?":
These "crossroads" apply very much to the PlanetMinecraft community. You have to maketough decisions. Especially moderators.
The decision may be small, such as whether to post something, or not. You know you may get some negative reactions, but at the same time positive reactions, and constructive criticism. If you don't post it though, no one will be able to see it, and you won't know how people feel about it, and how you can fix it.
It can be big, as well. You may be a moderator, deciding whether to ban someone or not. Even though he did something minor, it was a large breach of PMC code. Although, he's famous, and if you temporarily ban him from posting, and whatnot, you will be hated.
You just don't know the right thing to do.
~But that's your decision~
Don't listen to negative reactions, as heavily. Focus on which way will benefit you most.
Well, guys. That's pretty much it, for now. I hope I gave you some "light".
