Day 1

I awoke on this strange land, the feeling of sand underneath my feet, as my eyes scanned the strage, foreign world that I had been placed into. It was strange, yet, somewhat familiar, like I had lived this life before in another time. My thoughts slowly drifted away, as I studied my terrain around me. In the North, I could see what appeared to be large mountains off in the not-too distant horizon. To the East, squinting away the sun I could see what appeared to be rolling fields, filled with chickens and cows and pigs, all happily grazing through the grass, not a care in the world. To the South, water. From what I could make out, it seemed to be quite deep, probably an ocean I guessed. To the West, there were some trees, and more fields. I figured that the best place for me to start would be to the West, as I would be able to have some cover from the quickly-rising sun underneath the trees.

As I walked, I made sure to take note of any important details around me. Mostly dirt and sand along the beach, but I think I saw some clay back at the edge of the beach at the time. I couldn't bother to check then (Note: Go back tomorrow and gather that clay, if it really was indeed clay), but I focused on getting some shelter. The trees that were given had some nice cover, but I needed a home, a roof over my head, or something along those lines. My eyes looked at the tree, as I thought for a moment. "What if I..." I began to say aloud, as if I was talking to someone. My mind took over, as I began to slowly peel away at the outer layer of bark on the tree. The feeling of the wood on my hands was weird, different, but somehow relaxing. As if my mind was taken off of the fact that I was alone. Just doing something by myself would help out a lot. After awhile working away at the tree, I was able to get enough wood to form a workbench. From there, I made myself a small wooden axe. My hands had become cut up from all of the cutting on the tree, but the pain didn't bother me. Now that I had an axe, it wouldn't matter, as I began to work on a few other trees in the area, cutting them down and gathering the wood.

By the time I finished, it was just past high noon, and the sun was heading to the West. I needed to make a house by nightfall, for shelter. It wasn't good to be outside in an unfamiliar landscape. I brought the wood to my workbench, and began to use the lumber to create wooden planks. I had to hurry though, as by the time I had finished, when I looked towards the sun, it was starting to set. I quickly started to lay the planks down onto the ground, forming a small little shack, barely enough room for me and the workbench to fit inside. As the sun began to set, however, I saw three things I needed, which helped me do all of my writing. I found some reeds on the beach, and a squid that had washed up onto the shore of the beach. It was as if the great almighty God Notch was smiling down upon me. With the remaining wood I had left, I made myself a sword and cut into the skin, gathering its ink pouch and knocking down the reeds. As I headed back, I spotted a chicken roaming around my house, so I took the opportunity to kill it. The breast that it had wasn't good enough to eat, as it appeared to be too small, so it would seem that I wouldn't be able to eat for the night, but then again, it's not like I had anything to cook it with. Better to be hungry than risk getting a disease.

I sealed myself from the outside in my small cabin. I sit here, on my crafting table, listening to strange, unsettling sounds outside of my shack that I claim to be my current home. Little to no resources, getting hungry, and only this journal that I can hardly see what I am writing in, barely lit through the cracks in the door by the moonlight. I will try to sleep, but without a proper bed and all of these sounds... I highly doubt that I will sleep...
