You know how when you are eating cereal and you put your spoon down and it just slowly sinks as more cereal flows on and eventually sinks to the bottom of the bowl? Thats kinda what anxiety is like the bowl in this story represents depression as you sink further and further. The cereal is anxiety as it slowly pulls you into depression.
