Prologue:

Everywhere I look, my allies are abandoning me. Either turning traitor, becoming a walker or flat out turning stone dead. All who I have left are Eric and my little sister, Melina. I don't know how long it will take for them to leave me as well. All that I can say is that I will protect them at all costs. I have to keep them safe, I just have to! It will kill me to see Eric dead or as a walker or even worse, Melina. No, it will not come to that. We can do it, and if not we, then them. I will give my life to protect them. As I am writing all this down, a quote comes to mind. "Love always involves responsibility, and love always involves sacrifice. And we do not really love Christ unless we are prepared to face His task and to take up His Cross."-William Barclay. I didn't really think much about it until now. Uhg, I probably should have paid better attention in Bible Studies...



Diary of a Human


Dear Diary,

Hey, um, how's it going. As you can probably tell right off the bat I'm not very good at this writing stuff or putting my thoughts down on paper. To be honest, the only reason I'm writing or even using a diary is because of the fact I need to pass this year in bible studies and not take it again during the summer. No one wants to do that lol. Um, so I guess I'll tell you about me and my family. My name is Casey Beneth, yep, my parents wanted a boy:P I am 17 years old and my birthdays on August 15th. I go to an all girl, preppy, private, Christian school where the girls and teachers would turn up their noses as so much as look at cha. I live with my Grandpa, who is a real jokester and can laugh at just about anything, my Grandma, who I know is either a witch, a psychic, or just crazy. And then there's my little sister, Melina, who is so shy and quiet but sweet as well. She is probably the only thing I look forward coming home to. My mom died when she was born and dad ditched us with her parents soon after. But its ok, I just figure anyone doushy enough to leave his two children was probably not worth knowing. Well, now u know me and my life and people in it. I will try to write in you once every week cause that's the minimum for a C. Betcha I wont last with this writing thing for a month, haha, oh lord help me...



Dear Diary,

Hey, its Friday of the next week and I forgot to write in you again. Uhg, why does school have to be so hard for me. Or better yet why can't I remember to do things that I need to do. Hmm...told you this writing thing wouldn't last for a month. At least school gets done in a week but that means finals are coming up. Not that it really matters, I'm planning on dropping out next year and working at the local supermarket. Exciting right :p But it will pay the bills. Anyway, I have no idea what I'm going to do this summer. Probably just hangout with Melina, maybe teach her to ride a bike or something. Grandma's been acting weird again. She keeps walking around the house putting stuff in boxes, going to the store and buying all the canned foods. When I ask her all she says is "A mighty storm is coming; I can feel it in my old bones. Only God knows what it will bring!" Even Grandpa just shakes his head. I'm starting to believe she's just crazy. All she's going to end up doing is having us go in debt for the all the food she's buying. Although, I do love canned ravioli....
