What if the DDR didn't cease to exist after 1990?
In this alternative timeline, the USSR doesn't collapse, America collapses into many different republics. Because of America's collapse, West Germany has no choice but to reunify with the East. So the DDR becomes the die wiedervereinigte Deutsche sozialistische Republik (the reunified German socialist Republic). Because of Germany reunification the East gains the economic power of the West, which boosts Germany to be the second most powerful state in the world, behind the USSR. In 1994, a civil war breaks out in the UK, between three communist groups (the British Communist League, which aligns itself with the WDSR, the British Soviet Party, which follows a Stalinist communist ideology, and finally the Titoist British Movement) the three superpowers of the German socialist Republic, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia go against each other for control of the British Isles. All three countries remove diplomatic relations with each other. Alliances are setup, China joins the war on the side of the Germans, Vietnam joins the side of the USSR, the unified Korean state fights for Yugoslavia. Angola declares neutrality after going through many years of civil war. The war last for five bloody years before the BCL destroys the last Titoist enclave in Inverness, and unifies with Germany. The WDSR is a world power house with the highest GDP and best economy.
