This Minecraft map recreates the game Subnautica in Minecraft.
INTRODUCTION
Subnautica is an underwater adventure/survival game set on an alien ocean planet, developed and published by Unknown Worlds Entertainment. Read more. I recommend checking out Subnautica if you haven't heard of it yet. This project is a terrain based on 4546B - the ocean planet, where Subnautica takes place. It is also survival-compatible.
KNOWN ISSUES
- Lag? If you experience very low FPS during gameplay, you might want to allocate more memory to Minecraft.
To fix server-side lag, such as mobs freezing, laggy animations, etc. give the server more memory. In Project Files, create a text file with 'javaw -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar spigot-1.12.2.jar' inside. Save it as .cmd and run it to run the server with 2G of memory.
- PDA not opening? Make sure you're clicking on empty space in front of you, not a block. Also, to close the PDA press SHIFT.
HOW TO INSTALL
This is a video installation guide. The installation is complicated, but everything is shown clearly. It shouldn't take longer than a few minutes. There's also a written guide in the All Files.zip file you get from the download.
Please be careful at the plugin downloading step. Check if you have 15 plugins downloaded before closing the browser. If not, click on all the tabs to refresh them. Also, in the video, it looks like Minecraft launches itself, but it's just a cut in the video to make it shorter. You have to launch Minecraft normally by hand like you always do.
MULTIPLAYER
Below you can find a tutorial for Multiplayer Support. It uses Hamachi, free software that allows your friends to join your private Minecraft server. Click to download Hamachi. Remember that you need to follow the normal installation guide before proceeding to Multiplayer. And of course, you can host the server in a different way. Using Hamachi is just a suggestion.
ADDITIONAL CREDITS
This Project uses Spigot as its engine, and some Spigot plugins: CrackShot, WorldEdit, GroupManager, Holograms, LibsDisguises, message-blocker, MythicMobs, ProtocolLib, SharpSK, Skellet, SkQuery, SkRayFall, Skript, skript-mirror, skUtilities. All of these are downloaded from their websites.
The recommended shader for this project is CPHSBC Shader by Crushed Pixel
The ending track and menu music by: The Flavourist
