Chapter 1: Silent Screams

Mother spread the fluffy comforters over her child's thin, white body. "Good night sweetie, see you in the morning." He smiled at her. She closed the wooden door, slowly twisting the doorknob so sound musn't come in. Not one sound, except for his breath and the old grandfather clock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick...
...Tock. Tick. Tock. Ring. Suddenly, everything changed. The boy's dream, his surroundings, and everything. The boy looked around and... Wait a second. Is this a dream? He doesn't know. How can he tell if it's a dream if he's actually dreaming? Or is he just crazy? He doesn't know. He doesn't know...
Suddenly, the boy felt his body drop into a downwards motion. What's happening? Is he dying? Is he reliving a different life? The boy doesn't know... Boom. He hit the floor. The boy landed on what looked like a stained glass tower in a dark abyss.
"Mother? Father? Where am I? Someone please-" A door appeared out of thin air. A small, mysterious voice started to speak. Go through the door. The boy had no other choice but to obey. What else was he supposed to do? Jump off the tower? The small little boy felt like it was the right thing to do, as if the voice promised he was going to be okay. He moved, step by step. link by link, yard by yard.
Now he appeared on another tower. This one was blue, and had a sword icon in the middle. All of it was glass pattern, each little peice like the parts to a jigsaw puzzle. Almost like someone had put this together, created it for him. Created for the child to enjoy. Oh, but he didn't want to enjoy anyone's puzzle, stand in awe. Now he wanted out! He wanted out of the lucid dream! He wanted to go back to the way things were, with him and momma...
The boy heard a distant voice. Wake up! Wake up!
     "
I'm here, mother!" No reply. "I'M HERE!" Still, nothing but the sound of thin breath. He tried to wake up; blinking, slapping himself into reality, but nothing worked. He was stuck in a never ending dream. Or was he? Another door appeared, only this one was white.

The voice appeared. Go through the door. There's no reason to be afraid.
     "Can I believe you?"
When all seems dark and lost, there is a light at the end of the journey. The child inched himself towards the door, the light from inside it getting stronger everytime he moved closer. Now, everything was engulfed in a light. A light so bright, all he saw was, was... An island. Yes, yes, a beautiful island. This is where the boy lived. Three characters who had lost, forgotten profiles appeared. Were they his friends? I don't kn- Where is my script? Hold on.. Just.. Here we go. A boy, a man, and a girl who looked to be fourteen appeared out of thin air. The voice started again.
Go on, answer some questions. Get to know yourself. He started with the other boy; He couldn't move himself, all he could do was listen or speak.
"So, what do you enjoy the most?" The boy asked. HIs mind went blank- for a few seconds. He didn't know how to reply! My family... No, that's not it. Where is the rest of the script? Oh, nevermind. The hell with it. I'll just improvise for you. Back onto the storyline... The boy had it! He found the answer!
"Spending time with friends." The boy now moved onto the man.
"What do you treasure most?" This one was even harder then the question before. He didn't want to say something he would regret, so he said...
"Life." Yes, yes, that seemed right. Now finally, the boy moved onto the girl.
"If you could do one thing in life- What would it be?" Ooh, that's a tough one, the boy thought. He didn't know what to say. Why, there were many things the boy wanted to do in life! But if he had one option- What would it be? He didn't know for sure, exactly, so the boy said...
"See the afterlife." No, no, that's not it! Go back, go back and change it you idiot! That's not what you were supposed to say! Why, I- Oh, forget it. We can't go back now. He is stuck. He is stuck with his poor, ignorant decision. Now, he must face the consequenses of his actions.
Now, the boy was stuck in a dark abyss. Forever. Really, this time. He couldn't see, couldn't feel, just... Nothing.
The boy looked all around, saw nothing but nothing. That is, of course, if nothing was something. The more the boy thought about this, the more he became confused.
"How can something come from nothing?" The boy thought. "That's impossible!" Or was it... What if maybe it was possible? Could he imagine he be somewhere else, and appease his own wrath? He didn't know. What never occured to him was maybe he should try that. Yes. That sounded reasonable for a desperate situation.
The boy thought, and thought, and thought! He concentrated so hard, created such a vivid image in his mind, that he felt like he was going to pop a blood vessel. The peices of the puzzle formed in his head, each and every single little part of the picture was coming together. What was it he was trying to imagine? Was it white? Yes, it was white! Now he has a blur. It looks like, a, a- it's a castle! A white castle! Quite astonishing! Wait a second... Is that my castle? Yes it is... How did he ever- oh bother. Looks like we will have to deal with him.

Chapter 2: Only Time Will Tell

What is this place? Am I even supposed to be here? I dropped to my knees and sobbed. I didn't know what to think. In fact, I never knew what was happening since I fell asle-
"Wait, that's it!" I exclaimed. "If I'm dreaming, then I am bound to wake up. I just need to know how. If I get to the castle by following the path, will that wake me up? I guess there's only one way to find out." I picked myself up and put one foot in front of the other. One foot in front of the other. One foot in front of the other.
I could not smell anything, I could only feel and see. Every step I got closer to the castle, I could feel myself getting more and more tired. Tired inside of a dream. It was like I could fall asleep twice, but something told me I wouldn't be able to wake up the second time. Something true. Something that felt ordinary. Something, that if I knew what it was; I would become true with the universe. But no, it was impossible to know. I wasn't supposed to know at the moment. I would be taught.
I suddenly became very observant of my surroundings. The moon was in the shape of a heart. The dark brick path mossy. The sky a dark tone. The clouds looked down as silent watchers. Silent protectors. Their eyes glistened in the air, still blurred. But I was getting off track, I needed to get to the castle, so I started to run.
My heart was pumping now, I could hear it. Every single beat added to the rythym of my pain. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.
Now I was at the enterance. I knocked hard so anyone who was there could notice my dry voice. "Hello? Is anyone here? I need help! I am somewhere I don't belong! Can anyone help me? HELLO? PLEASE!" No response. Not yet. I stood back in anticipation for an answer, anything. I didn't care if it was a scream or a welcome, I just wanted to know I wasn't dead. I just wanted to know that I existed, that somewhere hear: A soul existed. A heart existed. Somebody existed.
The door creaked, slowy. And it continued. And it continued. And it stopped. I closed my eyes, and then opened them. 13 black-hooded men stood around me in a circle.
"Not playing by the rules, eh?" The hooded figure in front of me raised his arm and pointed at me. "We'll see how long you last in my game, now!" A golden key-shaped blade now appeared in my hand. I drew the blade in front of myself, studying it's detailed features. Fight, the voice in my head said. Fight for what is right. I let it drop lower, showing the 13 men I didn't want to fight. Not yet, for that matter.
"Was it you who was causing me trouble? Was it you who was tormenting my spirit, my mind?" WAS IT?"
The hooded figure in front of me removed his hood, revealing a scarred old man. "Why would you want to know? You don't know anything, boy. I was taught that one who knows nothing can understand nothing..." He tilted his head and grinned. "Your brain submits, your ears succumb, so why does your mouse resist?!"
"Aaaaaughhh!" I couldn't stand it anymore. I wanted to live, not to dream. I drew the blade and charged.
His body vanished in a black flame, but I could still feel his prescence.
"Boy, your brain submits, your ears succumb, so why does your mouse resist?!" I turned around only to find out that the black coat appeared again behind me and hit my head with his blade, stunning me. Suddenly, darkness.

 Chapter 3: State of Confusion

I lifted my head, blinking. I looked around, but all I saw was white. White chairs, white furniture, white walls, white room, white everything. I stood up off of the marble floor and saw a girl. A pale, blonde girl who looked to be about my age who was wearing a white nightgown.
     "Who are you?"
"My name is Namine." She cocked her head and smiled. "Do you remember your name?"
"No... I can't remember my name..." I shook my head in disbelief. I had never been so new to losing memory. I tried to think of anything, but all I remember is the man in the black coat.
"Your name is Xensen. It's okay, you will get the rest of your memories back soon." She assured me by slightly nodding her head. "Tell me, is there anything you remember from before? Anything at all?"
"Yeah... I remember a black coat. A man that had his face covered with a dark hood."
     "A black coat?"
     "Yes."
"What you saw, that was a member of Organization XIII. The Organization was a group of Nobodies who collected hearts. Nobody knew why, but they just did. Now, since their leader has gone rogue, they have followed his footsteps. I don't know their current objective, but you and I both know it's malice."
"What am I to do now?" I asked.
Namine sighed and looked at the marble floor, and then looked back up to my eyes. "The weapon you held, the one that looked like a key, that is what is known as the Keyblade. It was forged by a man generations ago, and it had the power to choose it's wielder. When it appeared in your hand, that meant it chose you."
     "Why me?"
"I don't know. All that I know is that the Keyblade chose you to become it's wielder, and you have a responsibility to save the seven Princesses of Heart."
