EULA has finally come into place, a lot of servers have changed their ways, but some have not. I want to look at three major servers, two are mini-games servers and one is factions. I am look at Mineplex, Hypixel and Gontroller. All servers have responded to it in different ways. I would like to compare them all. So lets begin with Mineplex, since they came up with a very clever idea.

Mineplex:

Change 1: They decided to split up there servers into two different types of servers. Free and Premium. As Hero or Ultra you can access premium servers which will have the Ultra kits on them. Normal players can join premium servers if their party leader is Hero or Ultra. They also get the same benefits on premium servers as if they were Hero or Ultra.

Result 1: From this they are making sure donators have more servers than free players. This means it would be harder to get on servers for free players.

Change 2: They had to remove the gem multiplier for Ultra and Hero.

Result 2: Ultra and Heroes will have a harder time buying kits, but other than that, the gem multiplier was useless.

My Reaction: I like the idea about spliting up the servers, but no giving as many servers to normal players than Ultra players does not sound like a good idea, since there is more normal players than Ultra and Hero combined. Giving the same amount of servers would be a much better idea in my opinion.

Hypixel:

Change 1: They are keeping the same perks, multipliers, kits etc. for people who bought any of their ranks before the August 1st. People afterwards are stuck with a rank that does not have gameplay effecting changes, they have to unlock kits and perks as a normal player would.

Result 1: It would still be unfair, but it will stop some players from complaining.

Change 2: Hypixel has added a level system so people can unlock gem multipliers once they reach a certain level. Making this feature unlockable for all.

Result 2: Normal players and donators after 1/8/14(8/1/14) can access this feature.

Gontroller:

Gontroller has done nothing, as of writing this blog on the 5th of August they still have ranks. One of them costing $250 USD and you get this.

The owner stated this on his forums.

Just wanted to let you all know that whatever happens regarding the EULA changes / enforcements, this server will not be going anywhere!

Reaction: If Mojang takes action against this, what is going to happen to a lot of faction servers, I mean the smaller guys since Gontroller will adapt if Mojang tells them to. Even Hypixel stated that the server will suffer low-income and that is a large network. Not many people will give money to small servers for a nickname etc. You may think otherwise, but people like perks. People will have to resort to other methods of getting money for their servers, possibly advertising. So, is this going to be the death of the factions era. How will the little guys get by.
