Hello girls and boys! Diamonddozen here with another rant.

What's the big deal? People see that f on a website or even on a commercial and the first thing they say is "FACEBOOK!" Even if it's a kids program about the alphabet. My question right now is why did Facebook get so popular?

In 2003 Mark Zuckerberg created Facesmash, which was original Facebook. Facesmash was well based upon the "Hot or Not" segment. He hacked into Harvard's general network area and took the pictures of people in the school and compared each other. What does that have to with Facebook you ask? Well Zuckerberg created Facebook based upon his mistakes of Facesmash. Orginally it was thefacebook.com. It was only for Harvard at the time but in March 2004 it started reaching out to other ivy league schools. In September 2005 it started reaching out to High-school kids, then in September 26,2006 it started reaching out to people aged 13 and up.

That is how Facebook became so popular. I don't get why though. It's not even that great of a website.
