Greetings~! It's me again, Derpinston! So today, I shall teach you my way of shading which is the Fade. The Fade is the most easiest way of shading. It's simple, and looks good on your skin if you try this technique. However, it might also bulls*** your skin if you made a mistake.

Requirements

To Fade Shade, you must have the following:

Part One: Picking the Colours

Picking colours are the most important of all skin making(You don't say?). To choose colours, look at the bottom-left corner of MCSkin 3D and you should see this triangle inside a circle. Simply rotate that wheel and adjust its value and saturation. NO need for colour palettes like in most shading tutorials that is too ''hard'' for you to handle(You're probably just lazy). The colours you choose affects your shading, for example: Make it very bright, and you probably won't see the shade in your skin like in my skin, Bartolomeo Platina. So I recommend you to just choose mid-saturated colours that when shaded, would have that extra flow vibes(I don't know why I called it that, but whenever I see my skin, its colours are like bass beats that are made into circular objects with colour, fading).

Part Two: Creating your skin's Figure

Done in Part One? Here's the next one. This is the easiest part to be done as it is your creativity that is needed. Form the figure of the skin you want to make(For example: Mario, Pirate, etc.) by putting the colours you chose into the empty skin template loaded. When done, make sure it's your final choice and decide whether the colours you chose will fit this shading style. Don't blame me if its output is stupid because you might have done something wrong or you chose the wrong colours.

Part Three: Shading the Head

This is the fastest part to shade. So in order to perform this, just select the Darken/Lighten button from the buttons section above your view(Whether its in Perspective, Texture, or Hybrid view mode). Now choose the darken option and set its exposure to ten. After that, darken the skin ONCE but do NOT shade the eyes. Only one layer must be shaded and that is under the hairline. Then select the Brush option beside the Exposure option and select Circle(5). Then Lighten the top of the head in four clicks, forming a bigger, even-sized, bright circle.

Part Four: Shading the Arms

Shading the arms is a bit longer than shading the head, so in order to do this, start with your right arm-part first. Choose darken and set its exposure to 30. Then shade the first two layers that are together with it. Choose 25, and shade the layers that are next to those two first layers. Remember that we will only shade ONCE. Then choose 20 and shade the next layers. Choose 15 and shade the next layers. Choose 10 and shade the next layers. After all those, you must end up with the end of the arm. That's where you shade it with 5. Then for the left arm, which was unshaded, shade the left corner(vertically) with 5 which also applies with the right corner. Leave the centre of the left arm unshaded.

Part Five: Shading the Body

Shading the body is the most important of all. Without it, your shading has no value or like a centre. To shade the body and the back, do the same of how you shaded the arms. But the centre of the body and the back SHOULD be lightened with 5% exposure. For the upper body, darken it with 25% exposure, which also applies for the bottom body. Meanwhile for the shoulders, shade the right part(Which is the nearest to the neck part) with 15, the next layer 10, and the last layer 5. Leave the last layer unshaded.

Part Six: Shading the Legs

Shading the legs is the same as the arm. Since the legs have the same size as the arms, just shade it like you shade the arms.

Additional Notes:

To make your skin's hand actually look like a hand, copy of how I did my skin's hand. The darkness exposure is 35. I hope this helps you get a jump-start for your skinning career!
