1V1 is always better than a war, because you can see what your enemy will do - You can anticipate his/her moves,

and mirror that by going the other way, and keeping an eye on your enemy as well as your surroundings - don't back into a trap, definitely don't. If you do, though, make sure your enemy gets trapped too. Diamond can kill in two hits to an unarmored player, so if you are 1 V 1 a person with a diamond sword, make sure he/she does not get close enough to hit you. Make sure that he/she is not quick-witted, and then run around to the back of your enemy and hit the player a few times - Then run away again to avoid any counter-attacks. Keep doing that and you should be able to kill him/her. If you're facing an enemy with quick-wits, then tried to gain the high ground - you could jump over the enemy if you need to. Then, strike and run back, strike and run back - hit 'n run. that's the best way. 2+ V 2+ If its a war, get the highest point possible and use long-range weapons. If you face an enemy, understand that diamond and iron swords both take the same amount of hits to kill if you are unarmored. That's all.
