Everyone who makes some type of content loves feedback.
And the most common type of feedback is a rating,
youtube has likes and dislikes
undefined
some places have up votes and down votes (basically the same thing)
undefined
And planet minecraft has diamonds as you're all well aware of.
But a diamond can mean anything, it could mean you like something, you love something, it could just be for encouragement even if you don't think the thing
you're diamonding is all that that great, everyone's thought about how a down vote like system would work on planet minecraft but that has the same problem as diamonds
it could mean you hate something or just think it's below average. No matter what rating system there is comments are always the best feedback because you can say what you think
about it for better or worse. but for a rateing system I think a one through five stars system would work for planet minecraft. undefined

or to keep it minecrafty it could be stone, coal, iron, gold, diamondundefined
a star system would show just how much everyone likes a post, if everyone thinks it's good it'll have three stars if everyone really likes it or loves it, four or five stars.undefined
(I was really tempted to make one star "you tried" XD)
It would also make favorites more powerful
to get a favorite something would have to be one of someones favorites posts on the site, hints the name,
rather then a favorite being the higher then diamond rating.
it would also give everyone the "bad rating"  everyones always wanted
if some thing could be improved but as it is isn't that good, 2 stars
if something was thrown together in five minutes 1 star.
With the diamond rating system, everthing's the same, for example.

I see a a post I really like and I give it a diamond
undefinedthen I see something I think is pretty good and I give It a diamondundefinedI've just rated them the same. Even though I actually think one is better than the other, all I can do is give them the same rating.
yeah I could post a comment saying I like it or love it but can't do that on every posts I see.
one of The biggest uses of a rateing system is to give quick feedback but I can't actually do that, all I can say is this is good and this is good to, no better, no worse. There doesn't even need to be a real bad rating, all the stars could be, kinda like, like, really like, love, really love.
And it would still work! The main point is that there needs to be a true scale of how much you like something.

It would help quality posts get seen which would help smaller people grow, most people find things by
being online when it's posted so small time people don't get that many views but with a five star rating system
if it was a great post the few people who see it would give it a high rating thus showing it to more people in a snowball effect.

This is just the base idea, theres probability problem with it I haven't thought about.

What goes on the Pop Reel isn't decided by moderators.

ok, I once heard they picked what go's on it. what does make things get on it though? I would think diamonds but I've seen things without many diamonds on it.

Usually, you need at least 2 diamonds to get on the blog pop reel (more if there are a lot of other popular blogs). However, I did once see a blog with only one diamond, yet 30 comments from various people, that made it.
