In minecraft first of all you must learn recipes.Don't know recipes,you won't have anything to do in minecraft(That if you are not in creative).
-When you first get in your world just go for wood and get enough for a wooden pick and a crafting table.After you will want to immediately go mining for stone.Stone is a few levels under dirt.Get 3 stone and make a stone pick.Then go mining until you have like a stack of cobble and some coal.Now go to your crafting table and make a stone axe,shovel and sword.
-At this point it will be close to night so you will need shelter.Get more wood real fast,make 2 furnaces and go build a small shelter for starters.You will build it with the cobblestone and wood that you've got.Make sure you turn the wood in planks so you have more materials.Once you finished the shelter your food bar will be almost empty,so go out and hunt some animals and maybe fight some hostile mobs.If you get 3 string from spiders you can make a bow.For the bow you will need arrows.You can craft them or get them from skeletons.
-Once you are in your shelter,make a mine inside of it so you can spend the night safe,mining and trying to find caves.Don't dig straight down for two reasons:
1:-After you leave the mine you won't be able to get back.
2:-you may fall into lava.
Note:You may dig down if you have the /sethome command but that's only in bukkit.If you have the command just do /sethome where you want your home(Your house for example).When you want to get to your house just type in /home.
-When the night is over go hunting for these materials and mobs:Sheeps,pigs,cows,creepers if you want tnt,spiders and as materials go get wood apples,find some caves and ravines for ores and find some sugarcane near water.
NOTE:If you find a cave or ravine note down your coordinates.You can see your exact coordinates in f3.
-When night comes go back to your house,make a chest from your wood and put the miscelagenous stuff in the chest.Then cook the meat from the cows,ships and pigs in the furnace.After this go outside your house and hunt for hostile mobs such as zombies and enderman.When it's day go back in your house and maybe start mining,or at this point you can take a break from the game.
All right.I see you are back.Let's continue then,shall we?
-Let's get into a little crafting now.First of all go to your chest and see if you have leather.If you do go to you crafting table and make armor.You will only need leather for this.Put them in this order for each item:

Leather Leather
Leather Leather
Leather Leather
LeatherLeatherLeather --------------------------------- ChestPlate

These will be the recipes for armor from any kind of material that you can make armor from.
EX:Iron,Diamond,Gold
Now of course,If you have better materials for armor,use those.Also these are the armor grades,diamond being the best:
Diamond>Iron>ChainMail(Can only get in creative)>Gold>Leather
-Now,if you haven't found a cave or ravine,you should be thinking of doing that,because these are the main places where you can get materials like iron,diamonds,gold,redstone or lapis.
-If you found a village,go see if you can find some solid trades at the villagers and if you do,trap him somewhere where zombies can get to him but he cant escape.Just don't forget where you left him.
Also if you found a village you can totally start a farm or maybe even make your home in that village.
-Killing animals and monsters must always be a quest for you as you will forever be in need of materials.So if you want to find something or you just want to travel,always kill those.Think of it as a very important side quest.
-After a solid couple of hours you probably found obsidian and maybe you tried to mine it.As you've probably seen,it's VERY hard to mine and you will only get it if you mine it with a diamond pick.Now note that this is a pretty important material.I will explain why in just a second:
First of all it can NOT be exploded by TNT so if you are playing with friends it could be very good for a house "Foliage".
Second,you will need obsidian to make an enchantment table which you will need to make your gear very powerful by enchanting it with the levels you have.You can see your level bar above your toolbar.
Lastly,you will need obsidian to make a portal.Yes,a portal.A portal to the nether to be more exact.Here you will be able to get as much lava as you need,get quartz,which you can only get there and also get blaze rods from blazes and maybe get some fine lot from fortresses.Also this is where you can find the wither skeletons.If you are lucky,they can drop their heads.You will need three heads to summon the Wither.You will also need a little soul sand which can be found scattered across the nether.You will actually need to BUILD to summon the boss.This is how you do it:

The blocks must be connected,the space I left was just so you can understand the words a little better.

I continued the tutorial.Now we are getting towards the end game to be honest.Will update soon and we will probably get to the End.Literally the dimention End.
