Many people have heard of the Herobrine, and many people think he is a myth, or a glitch in the coding, but a few true minecraft fans have realized the truth. Herobrine is neither a myth or a glitch. When Jeb says he's removed Herobrine, he's trying to cover up the fact that it happened. This is the story of how Herobrine came to be.
------------------------------------------------------------------LINE BREAK-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When Notch was testing Minecraft alpha, he made a character to help him. At first, the character worked. It gave him recources so that he didn't have to spend time mining and could spend more time testing and fixing bugs. But then something happened.
The source code for "Steve" as he was called was accidentally altered. No one knows why, and no one knows how. All anyone knows is that his eyes began to glow white, and instead of helping Notch, he began breaking blocks and killing peaceful mobs. When Notch noticed this, he checked the coding and it said that Herobrine was, in fact, doing his job. Someone had altered coding so deep, not even Notch could find it. They managed to recreate the old steve files, and set him as the default skin for Minecraft, but they could never truly remove the Herobrine, and he lives on forever in Minecraft worlds, gathering recources and "helping" the player.
