Difference-
Normal- Vanilla server, less lag, better for not so good computers.
Bukkit- Wide variety of plugins and new features, good for desktops.
Bukkit has the ability to add plugins, allowing new commands like /home, /sethome and /help and more games and such.
Last but not least, download Port Map(search on web) and then open it up, create a new port connecting to the same port as your server, then after that use the ip on the port map screen and use that ip to go on your server. you can also use localhost. To use a static ip address use no-ip or dyndns. No-ip is better because theres a software for ppl whos ip changes every day. hope this helped. any moew questions pm me or reply :)
