Waddup iViewers,
in this blog I will give some instructions on how to create a good adventure map. (to my opinion)
I hope you find this useful!

If you want me to add steps, ask for it and I probably add it.

1. Think of a theme, keep it original!
Please don't create another test facility!
There are great maps like that, but there are hundreds of them.
Maybe you can make use of the newest Minecraft features because they are used less.

2. Think of an amazing story!
Be sure your story sticks to the theme of the map!
You can explain the story throughout the map or you can tell it in the beginning.
I chose for the first option because it keeps the people going!

3. Don't make it parkour like!
People like to explore, that's maybe even the only reason they play Minecraft!
So don't make a 1-way map, it's easier but it's way better to make a map where they can also look at structures and so on.
Maybe you can create a large map about the theme first and then make it an adventure map!
I did the same thing and it worked out great!

4. Give clear instructions!
an adventure map will turn boring if you don't know what to do next.
So try to give clear instructions in a fun way.
For example: Trap a villager and put signs around him so people 'know' he is saying it, you understand?
You can also create a custom adventure map, which is amazing!

5. D
ECORATION!

Try to make the map look really nice.
It's always more fun to play good looking map!
But make everything stick to the theme!
You can also place villagers because it makes you map more lively!

6. Use of Redstone!
I really recommend using redstone because the maps and challanges get really creative!
The challanges also get more fun and so on.
Don't over-use redstone though, because it can get really laggy!
If you don't understand redstone you can always ask for help, I will probably help if you ask me!

7. Variety!
I had a problem to create much different challenges/puzzles.
That kinda sucks, because people love a variety in challenges and puzzles.
Good Luck!

8. Difficulty! (Inspired by mrduckie123)
Don't make you maps to hard to play!
A challenge is great, but don't push people to far because they'll rage quit!
So you can also make puzzle maps and good checkpoints...

9. Influence by Blockheads!
You're probably making this for your fellow blockheads and want them to enjoy it, right?
So if you want people to enjoy you can ask them for ideas or things they'll like!
Remember to stick to your theme though.

10. Recognition!
Did you know people love it when they recognize things!?
Don't copy challenges from other maps, that not what I mean!
But if you use things in real life and use it in a fun way people will like it very much and they will probably tell more people!

11. Texture Pack!
Create a custom texture pack.
Even if you're not good at texturing you can use painterly pack.

You can also just create the GUI or just certain textures, but make sure it sticks with the theme!
It isn't a must, I've never done it, but if you're good at texturing and stuff it can be really cool and make things look better.
But don't forget, don't use only HD texture packs for your map, because some peoples computer can't handle HD texture packs. (Like mine...)

12. Testing!
Always test play the map yourself once or twice!
Let friends play it too, because there are ALWAYS some small mistakes or things you could add.

If you want to have an example for an adventure map you can always look at mine and you'll probably see what I meant with some hints!
Jungle Adventure!

I hope this blog was really useful and you can create your adventure map now!
Goodluck with building it!

I would like to add, NO INSTANT DEATH LAVA PITS. Nobody wants to loose all their crap because the game lagged, or the sprint didn't work just right. Put cacti or monsters at the bottom, so you are at least punished.
