Hello, I am IJZM and i am creating this tutorial to help you how to make a texturepack. I am making this, because wehn I started making texturepacks i found it dificult where do i found all the stuff i need.
First you need to chose what resolution will your texture pack will be. It can be 8x8; 16x16; 32x32; 64x64; 128x128... Because this is your first time i would recomed chosing 16x16 (the native resolution).
The category is simply chosing how will it be. It can be realistic, simplistec, themed or other. I chosed simplistic because its the easiest one.
There are plenty of programs you will need to use to make a texture pack:
You can use either WinZip, WinRar, 7Zip or others.
You can really use any image editor program, but it needs to handle transparency. I recomend using GIMP2
Pres windows key+r, then type %Appdata% , when you are in your application data folder, click the .minecraft folder. Then, go to bin and finally with the Zip program extract the next folders and files::
Archivement
Armour
Art
Enviroment
GUI
Item
Misc
Mob
Terrain
Title
terrain.png
pack.png
particles.png
pack.txt
Open your image editing program and first edit all the blocks (terrain.png) When finish estart with the items (GUI/items.png)
Now start with some of the minecraft buttons (GUI/icons.png)
The pack.png is the logo of your texture.
