My name is MisterPhiloe and I like to help people with servers. I have been playing on many servers and see a lot of them going down with Fun and Financial things. So I thought let's write an article about it.
So what a lot happens is that staff are too quickly accepted. For example they say: I am a good builder, I am gonna record on this server, I can offer help. You could trust him, first ask them some questions and see some examples of what they can offer. Ask them their age and see what happens, sometimes they do lie about that and you don't know for sure, just ask them the next week again about their age with another question. If they do lie I shouldn't accept him for staff. What you can do for a faster test is Skyping, you could here how old they are, not the age itself but like if he is 14,15,16 you know what I mean. Another thing is that a lot of staff of servers are helping people in survival and the staff is creative so that's just annoying to check. You could ask friends but if you want a professional server.. ...be serious in what you're doing because with friends you can get conflicts. Fun is important but you can get the server serious and fun the same time
When I join a random server from PlanetMinecraft is there a thing that stands out and that is the names of staff they are too big or too massive colored magic thingey blablablabla. And that is not professional, why do you need a big name? If it is colored red they will see you're different you don't need a bigger name. If I join a server and they have a big moving name my first impression is amateur. You can look at bigger server like Hivemc and Hypixel, they don't use big colored names just simple and clean. And in my opinion that's better :)
The spawn building is a very important thing in a Minecraft server. It gives a big impression in what kind of server you're playing. If you're playing in a big server with lots of people a nice detailed spawn hub is great and nice. The info has to be read able if you don't want signs just search for a way to give them a welcome book thats useful and easy for them to read. If they are 30+ in the main spawn you could try to find something to let the players disappear so you won't get people in your way. In small server the main spawn is important as well you don't need a big one but just not a worledited cuboid make something cool and original. And if you have no inspiration search for buildings to remake or if you can't build download them thats better than a Square building.
Plugins are very important use them wisely and try to find the right one. Don't download for each little thing a whole plugin because your server will lag more and it could happen that plugins do the same but you just don't know how to use it. Think about what you want and do one thing at a time.
