Many Server Owners have a hard time keeping their players in their server.
Do you have this problem?
Heres some solutions:

1.) Many minecraft players like Factions, teleportation /tpa (name) McMMO (optional. [Old players could kill new players quickly.] You do not want this.)and pvp and raiding.
2.) Dont put in the [login] and [password] thing in your server. Sometimes it tells the player "No, you will hack us."
3.) Put a good Kit Starter. Not wooden or stone tools. But something like 5 diamonds and a full set of iron armor.
4.) Place a pvp arena.
5.) Place a boundary telling the player that he is about to enter Warzone/Safezone.
6.) Let the player able to get out of the spawn quickly. Don't set them though a maze of rules and water drops and water elevators.
7.) Place shops!
8.) Let the player do the /kit starter (5 diamonds, iron armor) every week or 2. This rewards the player for being on the server alot.
9.) Donation board. The better your server, the more people will donate. Try and keep the rewards as low as possible. Do not give them protection 6 or higher even if they donate $100. This kills newbs.

Optional:
1.) Anti-Xray block. This might turn off players. (Everyone is an xrayer.)
2.0 Anti-Zombes mod. Again, might turn off players.

Donation:
$5: 10 diamond blocks, prot 1 chain armor, ungriefable V.I.P house at spawn. /sethome, All else before.
$10: 15 d-blocks, 2x prot 2 chain or iron armor, /feed, All else before.
$15: 20 d-blocks 3x prot 3 chain or iron Iron armour, /broadcast , All else before.
$20: 25 d-blocks, 4x prot 4 chain or iron armor,

$35: 40 d-blocks, 4x Prot 4 diamond armour, sharp 2, fire 1, knockback 1, d-sword.
$40: 45 d-blocks, 5x Prot 5 diamond armour, sharp 2, fire 1, knockback 1, d-sword.
$50: 50 d-blocks 6x prot 5 diamond armour, sharp 3, fire 1, knockback 1, d-sword.
$60: 55 d-blocks 7x prot 5 diamond armour, sharp 4, fire 1, knockback 2, d-sword.
$70: 60 d-blocks 8x prot 5 diamond armour, sharp 5, fire 2, knockback 2, d-sword.
$(Top Donator over 70$ [Who ever donates the most gets this.] So people will donate fight to get this:
2 stacks of diamond blocks, 10x prot 6 d-armor, sharp 6, fire 3, knockback 3 d-sword.
