Hello and welcome to my first tutorial blog. Now, before I get to into this I just want to say that i'm no master of profiles. I still have a lot to learn but those who teach, learn. So yeah...
Part 1: Why does it matter?
Profiles are important for a number of reasons. The first being that they are the main way that most users share personal details, information and funny images. Profiles are a way of making people trust you, making them relate to you. If you say "I like to cook" and the viewer of the profile likes to cook you form an interest.
Part 2: Profile basics
Here I will list the uses of each feature of the editor
Text options:
They just help format text by deciding weather to place it on the left ,right and centre. They can bold and underline things too
Numbers and bullets
These help with making lists
Hyperlinks
Very useful for directing people to additional pages
Undo/redo and text colour
Self explanatory
Part 3: What about those "images with text" profiles
Now, so far I have only talked about using the Profile editor to create a profile but there is another way. Some people have been just using a image with information on it as a profile picture (and I have nothing wrong with that, is a good idea). But you may be wondering "Oh cool!!! But how do I make one?" The answer is simple. Simple as in image and text programs. All you have to do is to just make one your self. I can't think of any way to help you. But anyways I put together a little chart thing.
Normal profile
+Easy and simple
+Easy do edit and maintain
-May appear dull or standard
-May have problems
Image based profile thing
+Creative and cool
+Shows that you have art skill
-text may be hard to read
-image may have improper dimensions
-Updates can be difficult
Part 4: The line tool and it's importance
Now like the rest of this blog I want to state my personal opinions. And one thing I want to say is the importance of the line tool (See "Anatomy of the profile editor"). This Is, I believe is one of the most important tools. This is a key tool as it keeps your profile organized. It makes it really easy to divide your profile into different sections to keep it organized and to make it easier to read.
Part 5: Checking
For the sake of clarity, please copy and paste what ever you write into a word processing program to check for spelling and grammatical errors.
Part 6: Help for people like me
When I first found out that you could add images I had no idea how to but I will show people incase theres someone like me reading this who doesn't know either.

Part 7: The end
Hope this help you in some way or another. I really didn't want this to seem like a way of me saying "This is what a good profile looks like and your's looks terrible." Because that's not what I wanted to do. I wanted to give my opinions on what make a good profile (in my view) in a blog.
