Hello and welcome to my tutorial on how to make a perfect minecraft server. Who am I to tell you how to make/improve your server you may ask? Well allow me to explain. I have had a long past experience of hosting servers and getting tips off people. Also i have been a member of multiple established servers. So this blog is being written to share my knowledge and overall help make better minecraft servers.

So i will begin by reccommending the operating system of your server. If you are looking to make your server a pure survival server woth no rules and restrictions then choose the standard Minecraft server from the Minecraft website. If this is the case then I hope this helped, however if his is not what you want carry on reading.

In order for your server to be a success I would HIGHLY reccommend getting the craftbukkit operating system. This system allows access to a multitude of plugins which. An aid you in management and control of your server. But what plugins to get you may ask? Well below is a list of plugins that all successful servers tend to have and a small description of what they do.

Essentials - This plugin is the number one must have for all servers. There is too much to explain what it does in this blog, but it basically it gives you a multitude of commands to aid you in game, such as changing the time in your world or the weather. Essentials is not just one plugin it is many split into sections. You should get all of these plugins except from the Essentials Protect plugin. This is because there are much better plugins that do the same thing just more focused and easier. These are the following 2 plugins:
o LWC
o Worldguard

LWC - This plugin allows you to protect chests and other items as such from people using them. This is useful as it prevents stealing and looting; which is better for you to reduce the stress of sorting out problems. :/

Worldguard - This plugin allows you to disable variables to do with the world. This can be useful for things such as preventing griefing, by protecting regions. You can prevent things such as fire spread and creeper explosions as you can probably tell this plugin is very useful! And the list of features carrys on for a long while. This plugin requires worldedit, but dont fret because thats on the list too.
Worldedit - This plugin allows you to do all kinds of things. I cannot explain all the features as I am still discoverin them myself. Please watch a youtube video on how to use this plugin. IT IS WELL WORH IT!

Logblock - This lets you find out who has griefed or placed blocks and then lets you get rid of it by typing one command. Then you can ban fhe griefer using his plugin: Mcbans - This lets you know if people have been banned before on other servers, so you know to watch them. If they grief you can globally ban them. This will tell other owners that that player may be a griefer, and also will lower that players reputation. This means if their rep gets too low they will no longer to be able to get on certain mcbans servers. You can set a minimum rep level in the mcbans config file.
