How to survive Minecraft hardcore mode? (pls give tips)

Yesterday I died in Minecraft hardcore while i was in a nether fortress i was lack of food put hit a zombified piglin while battling wither skeleton, but while going home a blaze burnt me into a crisp. Any tips ? Let me know in the comments

old post but dont go to the nether too early, instead try getting diamond with protection and ATLEAST 1 totem.

i always use shields even while mining sometimes, but still died while fighting a blaze, and snowballs... thx for the tip
