Hello! Today I will teach you how to sustain your food bar!

There are many kinds of foods that you can eat, meats, vegetation, sweets, and poisons.
To eat your food, put it in your hand and hold right click to chomp down on it!

The easiest kind of food that you can get is... meat! Meat is dropped by poor cows, chickens, and pigs.
Raw beef and pork restore 1.5 hunger points, raw chicken restores 1,
cooked beef and pork restores 4, and cooked chicken restores 3
To kill the animal and get its food, you must left click on it until it dies. Or, to kill it faster, use a
sword, or a bow and arrows.
Recipes in here:

Sword does more damage to a creature with left click, and block with right click.
A bow can shoot arrows by holding right click, and releasing after a bit.
After you kill the animals and get their meat, craft a furnace to cook it.
Recipe in here:

Now, put the furnace in your hand, right click to place it, and right click again to open it.
Put the meat in the top slot, and fuel (coal, wood, etc.) in the bottom slot,
and after a while, your meat will cooked, and you can eat the grilled goodness!
You can also give it to your pet dogs!

Another food is an apple! Apples sometimes drop from the leaves of oak tree. (the brown trees in forests)
Apples restore 2 hunger points
Although they are rare, they can be the first food you eat, and can be turned into a golden apple!
Recipe in here:

It requires the apple and gold nuggets. Gold nuggets can be dropped from zombie pigmen from
the nether, a horrid realm representing the underworld. Or you can smelt a gold ingot, put it in your
crafting slots, and you'll get 9 gold nuggets. A golden apple restores 2 hunger points as well.
However, restores up to 5 hearts over a period of time! How cool is that?

Next, poisons... bleah. There are two poisons, rotten flesh, and spider eye.
Rotten flesh is dropped by zombies. It restores 2 hunger points, but makes you get hungry
quicker for a while! It is not usually a good idea to eat rotten flesh unless you need to quickly regenerate...
or you could just give it to your dogs.
Then there is spider eye. Spider eye is sometimes dropped by spiders. (obviously)
It heals 1 hunger point, but poisons you so that you take 2 hearts of damage!
Don't eat spider eye when near enemies, it makes you prone to die.
But there is a better use for spider eye. Use it in alchemy to poison your foes!

Now onto vegetation. You can farm wheat and craft bread to eat it.
Bread restores 2.5 hunger points.
To farm... punch some tall grass to get seeds.
Then craft a hoe,

put it in your hand and right click on dirt or grass to till it.
Then put the seeds in your hand and right click on the tilled dirt
to plant them. Plant the seeds near water and in light to make them grow faster.
Wait a while for them to grow, then punch the wheat to harvest!
Now, craft the bread and eat it.

You can also make cake! No, really! It's not a lie this time!
Cake is the first food to be placed down. It has 6 slices, each restoring 1 hunger point.
Cake needs 4 ingredients. You'll need wheat, that was covered in the bread explanation.
You'll also need sugar. You can find sugar canes on the edges of rivers and swamps.
Take it, and put it into your crafting slots to turn it into sugar. Next you'll need milk.
First, you must craft a bucket,

then put it in your hand and right click on a cow to milk it. Lastly, you'll need an
egg. Chickens sometimes lay eggs, pick em' up and make the cake!
Recipe in here:

Put the cake in your hand, slap it down with a right click, then
right click again to eat a slice!

Now, I know bertie LOVES this one, melons!
Melons restore 1 hunger point each.
To get melons, you'll need melon seeds that come from chests in
abandoned mineshafts, once used by miners, now used by the undead...
Then till the earth, and plant the seeds on the land, with at least one free block
next to it. Wait for the vine to grow, then in a little bit, it will drop a melon block next to it!
Break the melon to get slices of it, then you can eat the fruity goodness!

And now, a dish for a fun guy, mushroom stew!
'Shroom Stew restores 4 hunger points.
To make it, you'll need a bowl,
Recipe in here:

and some red and brown mushrooms. Put the bowl and mushrooms in your
crafting slots, and then you'll get your stew! When you eat it, you'll get your bowl back!

Next, you can eat fish.
Raw fish restores 1 hunger point, cooked restores 2.5
To get fish, you'll need to fish! First, craft a fishing rod
Recipe in here:
Grid_StickpngGrid_Stringpng

Then put it in your hand, and right click to cast your line.
Try to cast into the water. Once your bobber is in the water,
wait for it to dip in, and right click to reel in! Fishing requires
luck and timing, but you'll get it.
Then put the fish in the furnace to cook it, then you may eat it!

Last, but not least, cookies! (it DOES however heal the least :P)
Cookies restore 0.5 hunger points.
Cookies need wheat and cocoa beans. Cocoa beans can be
found in monster dungeon chests, or in version 1.3, can
be found in jungle tree leaves and cocoa bean pods found
on the sides of jungle trees.
Then make the cookies,
Recipe in here:
Cookies: Grid_WheatpngGrid_Cocoa_BeanspngGrid_Wheatpng

and eat the sugary goodness!

Hope this helped!
