Here are a few steps to get resource packs for minecraft 1.6.2:
1. go to google
2. search for the resource pack you want
3. find one and click it
4. it will bring you to the website, find the place where you would download it
5. download it
6. if you are on mozilla firefox, safari, or google chrome, click find location
7. drag the file with your resource pack to your desktop
8. open up minecraft
9. once its open and you are at the start menu, go to options
10. click on "resource packs"
11. click on "open resource pack folder"
12. drag your resource pack that is in your desktop into the folder
13.(1.7.2) go to resource packs and shuffle the one you want
