I Dreamt I Was Dreaming is a book or short story...not sure how long its gonna be if i ever finish it... about a woman in her 20s named Sophie Londale. the story is filled with the usual things modern literature is filled with these days: tragedy, love, suspense, mysterious paranormal activity and strange phenomena. y'know, that kinda stuff.
This is the short intro chapter to the book. it doesn't necessarily start with Sophie herself, but this character is a very important person later on in the story. The next part i upload is where Sophie's story really begins. so keep a look out for it if you're interested.

Ever since I can remember, my life has been filled with nothing more than the constant repetition of my own thoughts spiraling back in forth through the whirlpool of my meaningless existence. Who am I? Why am I here? What is my purpose? I have nothing to do but ponder the meaning of my own life and this dreadful, ghostly world I live in. In this world, there is no one to talk to. In this world, I have nothing to turn to in hopes of answers. There is no god. There is no salvation. There is no comfort, no hope, no happiness, love, excitement. There is no life. All there is, is me. Nothing but me and the ground I lie upon, with the empty gray sky hovering above me. There is grass, but it is a lifeless grass. There are trees, but they feel cold and faint. Even the water is still. No ripples flow along the flat watery surface as the wind blows by. Not even a flick of my wrist can bring forth even the smallest of waves. Instead, the water flies up, then stops, and falls back down. Then the movement stops, as if my hand was never there to begin with. Moments like that make me wonder if Io m even here. Maybe Io m nothing more than an illusion. Or, maybe this world is the illusion, and Io m trapped within a dream of my own making.
Sometimes, I get this feeling that there is more to this world than there appears to be. Sometimes, I feel like someone is calling me. I begin to hear a voice calling to me from beyond the gray, empty sky. Ito s a womano s voice. She sounds soo ¦ familiar. But who is she? What is she saying? Where is she? And whato s her name? I want to know, but I cano t. If only I could get away from this place. Then, I would be able to her her clearly. Then I would be able to see her face. Then I would be able to walk with her. Even talk with her! To talk to anybody! I could laugh, I could smile, I could sing. I could be happy. But I cano t. not as long as this world holds on to me. One time I thought I heard the woman say, o Make a wish dear.o To be free from this world. That, is my wish, my desire. Ito s what I long for. Ito s what I want more than anything, to leave this lifeless world, and join that woman whose voice sounds ever so familiar. But I cano t. Because this world wono t let me, and I dono t have the strength to break free either.

im not use to writing from a woman's perspective so this is quite a challenge for me. the next part should be up sometime by the end of this week
