Improve Your Screenshots With These Simple Tips
Factor 1; Proportions.
Proportions are essentials to making good screenshots. You need to fit in what you are taking a screenshot of, and remeber to leave space around the edge for later on, if you want to crop it for rotate it at an angle. Proportions can also make your build or whatever it is change size. If you have a fairly large build, try to find a size and place that will make your build look bigger than it is- this will help the viewer see the level of detail better, and overall make your build look better.
Factor 2; Texture Pack.
If you choose to use a texture pack in your screenshot, the best ones to use are high resolution ones, again to highlight details. Try to find a texture pack that fits the era of your build and the style. For exmaple, if you have a castle, try to find a nice detailed medieval texture pack.
Factor 3; Shaders.
This is optional, like texture packs, but shaders will improve your image even more. Try to find a suiting shader pack - and preferably with factors that suit your build. For example, if your build is in a closed area, try to find a pack with minimal leaves wiggle. Shaders are also important for lighting. Try to find a time of day that will cast the sun on your build to produce a non-obtrusive shadow that will help to outline your build in the screenshot.
Factor 4; Editing.
It is important that you edit screenshots. Raw screenshots are usually the most boring ones to look at, and the ones that don't appeal to the user. Try to use an editing program to colourize the photo, or use an application to apply a filter; just like instagram. Filters can improve your image and make it stand out over others. Sepia tones make builds look especially nice in pictures, and grayscale makes a great tool for highlighting details.
