Is Minecraft becoming a Griefing/Trolling game instead?
We all know that Minecraft is supposed to be fun for everyone... whether it is building a grand mega luxury resort or hotel or even a simple shelter to protect yourself from the dreaded creepers and endermen or even having fun on a server and exploring it further.
However though, there are some people that want to ruin other people's experiences (griefers and trolls) on the server without even knowing it and it may cause (if there is more than a few greifers/ trolls) the server to have bad reputation in itself. This maybe bad as there will be eventually no-one going to that specific server if the reputation is so.
The popularity of greifing was strong during the Beta versions (especially the versions Beta 1.4, 1.7.3 and 1.8). But was dimished because of the new Internet sensation; trolling. The troll face and the trolol song by Eduard Khil who died one day before the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The 4th of June 2012.
On the other hand, trolling and griefing (most certainly) are PROMOTED in servers where no one gives a single damn about what they do. I do not approve of these servers as much because normally, around 80% of the trees are either blown apart by TNT or chopped down. Also, it is hard to survive especially if there is no nearby source of food, wood or even materials (okay, except for dirt, stone and a couple of obvious others)
However to the contrary, trolling is really funny when you see other people falling for everything you do. It's human nature to laugh at other's misfortunes. Griefing in a mild sense can be fun but is not normally recommended.
