The next day at Cedar Wood Middle School, Lilliana caught up with Sunshine in the hall.


     "So," Lilliana said, "You taking the bet?"


     "Not totally sure," Sunshine replied as she shrugged, "Harry won't leave me alone about it though."


     "Better think fast because here he comes." Lilliana said and yanked on Sunshine's jacket sleeve.


     "Have you made a decision yet?" he asked.


     "I guess so." she said unsurely.


      He then grabbed her arm and walked over to the wall that surrounded the clearly fake plants in the middle of the "traffic circle." He then climbed up, two to three feet above the ground.


      "Here we have the bravest girl in the entire school!" He yelled as he pulled her up, "This girl here is going to go into the haunted Blaze mines ALL ALONE!"


      Clearly that phrase interested people, because more and more students stopped to listen to what he had to say.


      "Remember her if she dies in there!" he laughed as he yelled it even louder, "thank you for your time."


      Sunshine had no choice now, the whole school now knew what crazy scheme she was about to take on and were going to make fun of her until she graduated if she chickened out. After that, she didn't talk to Harry or anyone for the rest of the day.


      During class she had a very rough time keeping focus. Harry's words had kept ringing through her ears. "Remember her if she dies..."


       "No, don't think that." She kept telling herself.


      Before she knew it, her thoughts were interrupted by her teachers voice.


      "Sunshine?" said Ms. Valen, "Do you maybe know?"


      "Uhh," she muttered, "What was the question again?"


      "When did World War II happen?" her teacher said as she gave a threatening look.


     She knew the answer but Harry's announcement had made her entire memory die.  Sunshine looked around the room for help, but everyone was too busy staring her down. She could feel her face turning more red the longer the silence continued and the longer students stared at her.


      "Well?" her teacher finally said as she broke the silence.


      "Um. Pass?"


      Her teacher slowly shook her head and walked back to the front of the room.


      Sunshine sighed heavily and buried her head in her arms.


      She could feel everyone was still staring at her but when she finally lifted her head, everyone had shifted their eyes from her to the front of room where the whiteboard was.


       It seemed as if the world had frozen in time, like the ice age. She just stared at the clock; watching every second go by until the bell eventually rang.


       She picked up her stuff and pushed by everyone, determined to get her mind and memory back, not to mention off of what had just happened.
