Hey there! My name is Ezzie and I LOVE Languages,
They've been my passion for quite a while now (A long side music, I love music and languages just the same)
I thought I'd share my Languages passion with you and hopefully, YOU WILL LOVE LANGUAGES AS MUCH AS MEEEEEEE
You may have seen Greek writing before and said
"OH DAMN! It looks like a 3 year old has vomited all over my paper/the web browser"
Well, the fact is, there are two ways to write in Greek. you can actually use English letters to spell out words!
But I'm going to teach you the ENGLISH way
The Alphabet
Rather than 26 letters (Like the English alphabet) there are 24 in Greek!
Alpha - (Al -fa)
Veta - (Vay-Ta)
Gamma (Gam-mah)
Delta (Del-tah)
Epsilon (Ep-See-Lon)
Zeta (Zay-tah)
Ita (ee-tah)
Thita (thee-tah)
Yopda (yop-da)
Kappa (cap-pa)
Lamtha (lamb-tha)
Mii (Me)
Nii (Knee)
Xii (Zee)
Omikron (Ommy-cron)
Pi (Pie)
Ro (Row)
Sigma (Sig-Mah)
Taf (Taf)
Upsilon (Up-See-Long)
Fii (Fee)
Hii (Hee)
Sii (See)
Omega (Oh-Mega)
You may have noticed that the FIRST and LAST letter were "Alpha & Omega".
Alpha Means - The Beginning
Omega Means - The End
So basically, The Children's TV show: Alpha And Omega basically means "The Beginning and The End"... Depressing, right?
The Greek alphabet is useful to know, but if you bumped into someone who speaks Greek (And only Greek)... How are you going to know what to say..
JUST A QUICK NOTE ABOUT LANGUAGES IN GENERAL!:
If you bump into someone in the street (who isn't English) please don't stand there and go "DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH". You want to communicate with them... Not patronise them.
If you wanted to say "Hello" or "Hi" you would say
"Gaia!"
(Yah)
And if you wanted to introduce yourself INFORMALLY you would say
"Gaia! Legome [Insert Name Here] Herw Poly"
(Yah! Leg-oh-may [NAME HERE] Hair-oh polly)
-Hi, My name is [Insert name here] Pleased to meet you
Or if you wanted to introduce yourself FORMALLY you would say
"Herete! Legome [First AND Last name here] Herw Poly Gnormia"
(Hair-Ay-Tay! Leg-oh-may [First And Last Name Here] Hair-oh Polly nor-or-me-ah)
Hello! My name is [First and Last name] Pleasure to meet your aquaintance
Now you know the basics.
Now how to say please and Thank You

Parakaló
(Para-Cal-Oh)
Thank You
Efharistó
(Ef-Rah-Hiss-toe)
Thank You Very Much
Efharistó Poly

Agglika'
(Agg-Leek-Ha)
