Introduction

As an experienced blogger, I know the blogging section is probably the place filled with the most crap. Why is this? A couple simple reasons. People post pretty much everything that should go in the forums here. A lot of people post servers here also. Spam too. This wasn't always how it was. Let's save the blogging section!

How do we do this?

So, we have the idea, but how do we start to make it a reality? Some people might say we don't. I would be someone who believes we can. It may take a while, but everyone can make a difference in many ways. For one, if you are a good writer and you have good ideas, become a part-time blogger! We need good work! You can also stop spamming. IF IT DOESN'T FIT THE CHARACTER LIMIT, IT'S NOT A BLOG! Spam is not the answer for that. Also, c'mon. We have the forums. Post that stuff there.

Those are some simple ways to clean up this section. But how do we inforce this? Well, you could tell the people who do these stupid spamming stuff this: Doing this hurts yourself, not just others. Some people wont take it to heart, but the people that do will realize how they are giving themself a noob image, not just destroying a section.

What Can Non-Bloggers Do?

Everyone can do their part, no matter if they post blogs or not. You can make good posts popular and not ones that are redone over and over. You can even become a blogger! As I've said, we need quality work!

Another thing you can do is report spam. We don't want it, you don't want it, no one wants it. That will give people hope and above all happiness that someone would do this. Also, if you create a server, you can post it in the SERVER AREA, and not here. This is not the place to post that.

The Forums Isn't That Great, why would we post there?

The forums doesn't seem to be the most popular place on PMC, and that is why I think the spammers and such post here. They want to get heard. They don't think the forums is the best place. Well, I'll tell you now, it's good. It may be filled with crap, but that's the place to post it. All you'll get here is hate and more hate.

Not only that, the forums is a great place to get heard. With tons of people there, looking and searching for whatever topic you just posted, you could actually get kinda popular through the forums. The blog area? You could, but not with stuff that isn't blogs, which is what the blog section is filled with right now.

Conclusion

So, what do you think? Are you going to sit here, thinking nothing of my blog, or are you going to do your part to make the blogging section great again? Think about that.

*Blogs have always been this way. Even back when I was first coming here as an anon.

*crap blogs are embraced by many running this site. A perfect example would be Rageman, whom was made into a site moderator simply because of his public rants.

*Forums are actually for specific conversations, and blogs are meant for off-topic random subjects. Don't get the two mixed up.

*You created this discussion to improve blogs around PMC. And yet, you didn't post any solutions; essentially putting the blame on the entire community except for yourself for not stepping up and doing their part.

*The real solution is to get onto the moderators and sysops. They signed up to keep this site functioning and community-oriented, but a lot of times, I see them doing nothing but socializing and ignoring the real problems around PMC. It doesn't help that a lot of chat/site moderators are given their positions because they're friends with the right people. So the community needs to remind them to do their jobs, or else they don't deserve their rights.

That could actually work Candle, although there may not be many of us left :( And when everything comes back, all the spammers would return.

Meh. a perma remove might not be too bad either. Or a drastic reduction, considering they're not really in-game stuff.

If it does get pretty out of hand, I would definetly consider that. Great idea.

I'd love to see improvements in the blog section. Being a blogger myself, I've seen these sorts of things. People who just start blogging may need help over time, or else their blogs may be treated as 'spam' or 'bad quality'. Although, you can easily sum the entire blogging section into two sentences.
-We don't want your spam.
-We want something that makes us think or laugh.
