Chapter 1-Ruins Of The World

In Lost Memories your will hear the sad and dark tale of the few survivors of the Great War. You will hear the story of many characters each trying to find their way in the ruins of the world.

James sat on the bench in the park watching the fires in the buildings on the other side of the street. It had been a week since the last bombing. Had the war ended? Was he the only one left? He still cried for his parents. They had died 2 months earlier in a fire. All the friends and family he knew were dead. He was able to find scraps of food in the scorched remains of where his house was. He saw a few foxes running through the trees after a bunny. He had never imagined to be possibly one of the last people on Earth at only 15. He stood up and adjusted his jacket. It was the year 2038 and James knew there must be someone else out there.

Isamu drove the abandoned car he had found down the streets of what was once his magnificent city. Buildings were toppled. Houses were in ruin and it seemed when all the people had died a new strange beauty had fallen on his town. He saw a few deer run past him off into the ruins of a park where he had once played before the war. Some people during the war had called him lucky since he had no family to lose being an orphan. He would rather have someone who could take care of him and understand him than a dull orphanage for 16 years of his life. The car suddenly stopped with a bang. The dang engine had broke again. He got out of the car and adjusted his rifle and backpack. It wasn't far to the airport maybe he could find a plane or better some other survivors. He wanted to know he wasn't the only one left.

Remi had sat and cried. She had cried for the family and friends she lost. She had cried for being all alone. She had felt like all the happiness had been taken from the world. Then she had met Mr.Fuyu. That first night when she was sitting rocking back in forth out side what was once the family's cafe until the war. He had walked up wearing his glasses his black hair reflecting the moonlight. At first she had thought he wasn't real and she had hit his hand away. But he just stepped back and asked her,"Do you really want to be alone little girl?" "No but who are you?" "I am Mr.Fuyu and who are you?" "I am Remi" "Well Remi I know where we can find a way to get out of this town and to a place where we can be safe. But the question is would you like to come with me",he had said handing her a little stuffed rabbit from the old toy store across the street. Remi had stood up and taken the little bunny from him smiling. The first smile she had done in a long time.
