Funny that people are still commenting on this, I was 12 and prejudiced when i did this. Haha. MCreator really isn't as terrible as i had made it seem, you've all made good points on how it's a good starting place and how it's the people and what they choose to do with it that's the issue, not the program itself. At the end of the day, no one should really care THAT much about it - people should be able to make mods with whatever they want to, and i admit now the better move is to simply ignore those who misuse as opposed to trying to go on some "crusade" against them.

I never REALLY coded a mod, ive begun to try a looong while ago but then i quit and then a few years later i did code a plugin. But I dont really have much of an opinion except that I am against good mods being "drowned out".

I think it is dumb also I started making minecraft mods in Java when I was 7 it is not hard.

MCreator isnt bad but the people who use it. I use it but i at least make good mods not make a diamond dimension and call it done :D. Im only 13 and i cant learn to code so its the best way to add more to the community. Its also hard to do some stuff with it because in one place you can make it emit particles but in other you cant.

Any way Not many people will bealive you.

I say Mcreator is good for people who can not use a java file editer.

the biggest reason why mcreator mods are bad is because they lack diversity. most of the mods are something like: doughnut ore, sponge ore, computer sword and armor and computer ore, whatever.

in my opinion they could be something like a mod adding civilized humans living in fancy homes or helicopters dropping tnt wherever you go and you have to take cover.

all the mod websites i've been to, not one of the mods have been created by mcreator, so your actually wrong about mods getting buried by mcreator mods.

I am not against MCreator. I am using it to make a small mod for my friends and me to use, and I'm also learning to use Techne because of it (or did you also make a post against Techne?). I agree that there are a bunch of pointless and sometimes bad mods that are created using MCreator, but I'm sure that people can recognize a good and bad mod when they see it.

Also, I agree with what many people have already said: it's a good starting place. I doubt that I could learn to program a mod in an hour, and although I'm hoping that I will learn to eventually and make some of my ideas a reality, many people don't want to take the time and energy to learn a programming language when they could easily make their idea using MCreator.

I understand that you could be mad that your mods aren't being seen, but from glancing at your profile, you haven't made a whole lot of mods (and you've made an API, which is what MCreator is). Have you experienced your mod being drowned out by MCreator mods personally?
