Hello there, today, I will be telling you a story about how minecraft stopped me getting in with the wrong group and allowed me to express myself as a person through skinning, well just art really. And may I just say, thanks to Alienlace for inspiring me to make this blog. Without further ado, here we go.
When I was young I got was arty and I loved creating things. It was somthing everyone knew about me. However - I got in with the wrong sort of people as I was growing up. Gangs and violence were the only ways I thought possible to show people who I am. It wasn't until I got home one night to find my family sitting around a table, all together, staring at me - blankly. I asked them what was up and they told me what I was doing needed to stop - 'stop' that word, it just shook me.
I asked why and after a long conversation probably spanning a few hours and with used tissues everywhere I said 'Mum, Dad, I'm gonna make you proud, you will see!' A very dramatic sentence now that I look back on it. I rushed to my room, lifted up my laptop from the floor and turned it on - I still didn't know what to do.
I was still good friends with some arty people I had known as a child and I contacted one of them, he told me about sand-boxes, creative games, where you can do whatever you want - I was ready, I opened up internet explorer and searched 'Cool Sandbox Games' and the top result, was minecraft. Oh minecraft. I brought it straight away and instantly got the swing of it!
I was building skyscrapers, making traps anything that comes to mind, it was in my world. But there was a downside, I was stuck with the boring skin of a man called 'Steve.' So, a new tab was opened, youtube pulled up and I looked into how to change and make skins. I was in awe at the things I could do. Thats where it all started, me and MCSkinEdit.
I have made many skins since then and as many of you should know I am a fan of blocky skins. So, I will be realising a graffiti skin soon, what I hope you like, rate comment and subscribe, bye!
