When was the last time you actually remember being overjoyed when playing Minecraft? When was the last time you ran from a creeper because you actually were somewhat scared? How many times have you wanted Minecraft to go back to the way it was? Since 1.2.5 it seems to me that the game I once loved has taken a very sharp decline, ito s become more complex, more diverse and ultimately less fun. There are innumerable examples of this found throughout the game, and Io m not the only one that believes this. There are many more people that state that Minecraft has drastically become less enjoyable.
How many new things have been added to the game since Notch left? The answer is exactly 54. (not counting the massive amount of enchanted books) Now this may not seem like a large amount now, but just think about this; in the brief time that Jeb has been in primary control of the game he has managed to add this many new items. I believe that this is an explicit sign that Minecraft is becoming more complex, maybe so much to the point of confusion. This game was not designed to be complicated, for example just look at the graphics. Blocks, huge pixels and even a square sun; if this continues I hypothesize that is will eventually become a game like Skyrim. Complex, great graphics and unfathomable options. Once again this is not at all what Minecraft was intended to be. It is my strong belief that Minecraft has been watered down due to the amount of new additions.
In sum, I still believe that Minecraft has the potential to be a great game, however for this to happen there must be a shift in what Jeb is doing. I believe that he is trying to make the game better and I admire that, but the complexity of all the updates is ruining the game for many people. Ito s time for a change, ito s time for a revolution, ito s time for Minecraft to be born again.
