Hey there!

I myself am a Macbook Pro user (Mac in general), and I would like to share with you the pros and cons of playing Minecraft on a Mac. Firstly, I would like to say that these pros and cons are coming from the Macbook Pro which is a LAPTOP, so some details in this blog may be different with other computers, such as the iMac with an NVidia Graphics card, or a Mac Pro with PCI ports to use a custom graphics card.

So firstly, with my laptop, I don't really play with the sound on (On minecraft), meaning that I hear everything going on in my room. And if you own a Mac, you'll know that the ventilation is not great on the laptops, so my fan can get very very loud, whilst my laptop getting very very hot! So thats a big disadvantage, for the Macbook Pro. If you own a Macbook Pro, you'll probably know about the small ventilation hole near to the connection of the screen hinge.

Although your laptop is getting hot, your Minecraft FPS is getting hotter ;). A Macbook Pro on Minecraft has a very stable FPS, on the highest graphical settings, my Minecraft can get to a stable 30 FPS. Now for many this may be slow, but for alot of people, this is the common framerate. For example, if your filming yourself for youtube, you dont need 300 FPS, because the viewers will only see it at 30 FPS. On my Macbook Pro, I can get a maximum of 130 FPS, but on the latest Macbook Pro, you can get upto 300 FPS on Minecraft!

On the topic of Minecraft, from my perspective, to me, I see that Minecraft runs much more smoother on Mac, than it does on PC. This could be just a one off thing for me, but please do comment down about this fact (Do not be rude about it though). In technical terms, a Mac unlike windows automatically kills the most un-needed/unwanted process in the background of the computer unlinke windows. With Windows, you can download 3rd party aplications to do this, but that can take up precious RAM, On the topic of RAM, on Windows you can customize the amount of RAM allocated to your process, meaning that Minecraft will run much smoother!

Thanks for reading! I hope you liked it! Please comment down any positive critisim/feedback, thanks!
