Ahihoha! A new blog! I'm thrillled (though many of you might say that with a large amount of sarcasm oozing from that statement). Well, this time it's all about, oh yes, Server Reviews!

We all know that there are legio Minecraft Servers, of which many are, let's be honest and pure, just crap! Yes, carp! Pure, highly concentrated crap! But some aren't. And those servers I'm going in search for. So braze yourself, get a note and pen and just read.

Yogscast RPG Server.
This server has 200 slots available, sometimes more, sometimes less, but 1 thing is clear to me in the first minute I logged in: Admin abuse! I was playing about 35 seconds or less and I saw 7 lightning strikes! Now, admins do have this power, and the absence of weather assured me this was a blatant case of admin abuse.

I myself had experienced after only 3 minutes that they don't even care to find griefers, because they are griefers. I was mending my own business -for as far as walking can be called business- when I suddenly was struck by lightning twice (!).

After about 15 minutes, I knew enough. I give this server a spiteful 2 on 10. Why a 2? Because of the amount of slots available. Nothing less, nothing more. This score even saddens me, because I like the Yogscast & their initiatives. But this server is -in one word- disgracefull and should be banned from existence itself! Burn, thy unholy devil! Burn!

Sneakymode MCLayer Server.
This server is sponsored and maintained by Minecraft Layer, a very good but rather expensive server hosting site. The creator of the server is mrSneakymode, who is a rising star on the very crowded Youtube-firmanent. It has between 10 and 40 slots available, depending on wether or not the server is being upgraded or maintained to clean up griefing. I got in quite smoothly and quickly -twice- and spawned in what's called the Community Hub, where other players can bring excess tools, blocks and food, giving the new players a starting kit in a sense. This alone would please me enough to like the server already, but there's more, way more.

Once you find yourself a nice location to build -which is still easy, because the server is pretty new- you can quickly build a small cottage or you can easily start preparations for a larger house. I could build a decently sized home in less than 2 hours, in which I had a Private Chest, a Private Furnace, a workbench, a mushroom farm, a vine plantation and a small wheat farm. This only added to my content of course. Though gtiefing is very rare on this server because of its small size, I caught a dare-devil just breaking through my walls, because the door was locked to anyone but me. This case however seemed to be only one of many when I took a closer look at other buildings that were damaged.

I give this server an 8 on 10, which could be a 9 if the OPS and Admins could make it so that you could protect any block in a certain area or chunk, to prevent griefing.

Canifis.org Server.
A small private server, with 20 available slots. It's a Bukkit-server, so it means that general commands might be a bit tricky to learn at first, but after a while, you'll be typing them in like there's no tomorrow. It's hosted by dutch-speaking people, so you might want to learn a few words of dutch :P

It's a small server, so griefing isn't really a problem. It has a nice and large town around the spawn point and you can claim areas for your own. You can have multiple areas, but for the regular visitor, this is limited in numbers.

In a few hours, I had claimed a few buildings of an NPC Village for my own and had been able to renovate a damaged village.

In general, I give this server a 9 on 10.
