1. If your minecraft server ip is 192.168.1.1 etc, then that means it is still only a local server, and only people on your network can connect to it-YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PORTFORWARD here: HOW TO PORTFORWARD

2. Do not make more than 3 admins and 5 mods unless you have like a 1000 slot server. Otherwise, your server will suck, and you are more likely to have bad staff.

3. If someone says they have been admin or mod on more than 5 servers, and has no proof, then it is BS so don't let them be staff.

4. Essential plugins: Bukkit, essentials, groupmanager, mcmmo, factions, and mcbans.

5. Constantly monitor your staff to make sure they are actually doing their jobs and not just enjoying the power (that's your job :D)

6. Make sure you get donations :D

7. Have a website/forum for the server

8. Do not op/rank random ppl who ask for it (ban them!!)
