I think that Minecraft is a great game, but it still is lacking. Obsidian is one of the most difficult blocks to get in the overworld, and personally, I don't enjoy it as a building material. Imagine this: you just discovered diamonds, and are soooo excited to mine that purple block that has mocked you for so long. Don't you think that after you finally discovered diamonds and mined your first obsidian, you should be able to do more with it than build a house? Sure you can build a nether portal, but you only need one of those. To improve on this idea, I thought of every Minecrafter's worst nightmare: you are mining in a dark cave, after you got lost, you don't have anything to hope in but your diamond pick. Suddenly, a hiss is heard from behind and then your dead. You worked so hard for those diamonds! Well, no longer! Since obsidian is known for it's blast resistance, then it's only natural that obsidian tools would survive a explosion! Whether from a creeper or cannon malfunction, you can guarantee that your tools will be where you left them! This is my Minedea, and I believe this would truly benefit Minecraft.
