The terrorist shootings in South Carolina left me devistated, terrified, angry and discouraged. I was a child when the church in Birmingham, Alabama was fire bombed and four little girls killed. I thought those days were gone. So, seeing this happen, just as I'm about to turn sixty, left me powerless and heart sore.
Minecraft has been a tool by which I've worked through a lot of things. This is no exception. I went to wrok, building on TEI's creative server, working through the challenges of a 50x50 plot and tried to come up with something useful, beautiful, commemorative, hopeful and challenging.
This build is based on the Gospel song, "This Little Light of Mne." I even learned how to do enough redstone for it so I could play the song on my plot.
It's a challenge to stay courageous, to remember, no matter how hard, to let our light shine.
I want the kids who play Minecraft to know what happened, to learn from it and to be inspired to shine.
I built this on TEI. If you, Manuel & the build team find it worthy, could it be preserved and might I have a schematic of it? https://youtu.be/IPXK-ScipgM
