My Mods and Me
Issue #1
I've got so much to talk about... mostly about my precious mods.
It was about two months ago that I decided to see how many mods I could cram into the game. Mostly the big hitters like Build-Craft 2, Forestry, Industrial Craft 2, Red Power... 2... you get the idea. Anyway, when 1.3.2 came out I realized something very important about my Minecraft gaming. I have trouble playing Vanilla now. The only thing that keeps me playing until most of the major mods, release, is the Millenaire mod. Most of these mods I've mentioned, if you haven't noticed already, are not on PMC. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. I had manually installed over 50 mods (no mod pack) into 1.2.5, and for the most part, it ran fine. But now with 1.3.x out, it seems like I'm at ground 0 again. Fortunately, as mods are slowly releasing for 1.3.x I've managed to work out bugs/conflicts one at a time. It's also given me time to consider how/if/when I'm going to get my Youtube channel up and running.
So why play with mods at all? It's simple: the sky's the limit... so I'm just adding more sky. I decided I was tired of mining until I could build a mansion, and have diamond armor, I wanted more. So I got more. I got to the point in 1.2.5 that I couldn't possibly do everything in a single world without spending a long, long time doing so. I had fully expanded my game to a whole new level.
Before you even ask: yes I use mod-packs occasionally. But what I've found is that their never exactly how I wan't them. So I've learned just to compile my own "packs". The good side is that I can set it up how I want. The bad side is that I spend more time tweaking it than I do playing it. But once it's gold, it's awesome.
Ok shoomfie, but why are you telling me all this? well... because I'm bored, and I can. This is just an article, not a review, not a tutorial. Just enjoy it. Maybe, someday soon I'll start giving out information that you can actually use... stay tuned!
